Ice - Bobbie Whittaker
Bobbie is based in Birmingham, UK. After leaving a career in Environmental Consultancy, she is now a practicing artist with her work being collected internationally.
Bobbie's work is process based and often begins with a feeling or emotion and develops based on her initial mark making. She uses bold colours straight from the tube which she selects in response to a dominant emotion. She often uses natural forms as inspiration for her colours and layering technique, which she completes in oil paint. She likens her unique layering technique to a natural formation process.

This artwork is a heartfelt expression of Bobbie’s deep reverence for the planet’s delicate systems, in particular our glacier systems. Bobbie aim was to honour the environment, ensuring her artistic process aligns with her commitment to the Earth’s well-being. She embraces eco-friendly practices, using recyclable materials to shunning those that harm nature’s balance. Ice is a narrative that implores us to cherish and protect our world’s ephemeral beauty.
