Charles Uzzell-Edwards, known as Pure Evil, is a street artist from South Wales recognised worldwide. His signature pieces include a vampiric bunny rabbit and iconic portraits with a single teardrop, commenting on the nature of fame and celebrity culture. His style was shaped by the West Coast graffiti movement during his time in California in the 1990s. Upon returning to the UK, he became a prominent figure in London’s street art scene. Since the inauguration of Pure Evil Gallery in 2007, he has garnered a well-deserved reputation among in both Street and Contemporary Art.

During a conversation while under the influence, artist Jean-Michel Basquiat and contemporary Al Diaz coined the term "SAMO" as a shorthand for "the same old crap" in reference to the marijuana they were smoking. They initially used the term "Same Old" before abbreviating it to "SAMO." Basquiat later remembered, "It began as a private joke and then expanded."
