Introducing… the fabulous Annemarie Wright

Originally hailing from the charming city of Cambridge and now gracing Birmingham with her talent, Annemarie Wright is a force to be reckoned with in the art world. She graduated with a Fine Art and Printmaking degree from Wolverhampton University in 2002 and has been crafting her unique, text-based masterpieces ever since.

Annemarie takes us on a journey to see the world from a different perspective. She masterfully recreates portraits or places inspired by popular culture and current affairs using only handwritten text. And not just any text—words that describe, comment on, or even come straight from the mouths of her subjects.

From afar, you might see a striking black-and-white image, perfectly capturing the likeness of her subject. But take a step closer, and you'll be mesmerized by the intricate, stylized handwritten text that brings the image to life.
